About Egle Banyte

Egle Banyte sees the world through geometry. Her work focuses on the geometry of everyday life. Recognising that we are surrounded and yet often oblivious to geometry, her work aims at re-engaging its beholders with the mathematics of life, the patterns of the material world.

While designing her jewellery Egle uses simple shapes and reduces them further to their constituent parts in order to reinterpret them. She is interested in creating three-dimensional construction by repeating, joining, and mis-joining elements of particular shapes.

Egle dissects and reconfigures two dimensional and three dimensional shapes to refocus attention on to the building blocks of aesthetics. Through technical mastery she aims to achieve a reserved beauty while retaining the design-austerity to which Egle is committed.
