Artist's statement
Janet Dickson is a printmaker drawn to seedheads, shaped trees, colour, form and pattern found in the garden and in landscape. Multi-layered linocuts, lithographs and monotypes feature details from some favorite spaces, portrayed with a design sensibility which reflects her background in graphic design, in the tradition of English designer/printmakers.
Her work is underpinned by drawing and her love of line and many prints therefore begin life in sketchbooks from drawings made on location.
