JULIE ALLISON

Coburg House Studios, Edinburgh. Silver, gold, wood, transfers, paper and plastics. Julie graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone college of art in 2003. She describes her work as a quirky, narrative collection of hand drawn memories.

Artist's Statement

Julie is a jewellery designer-maker based at Coburg House in Edinburgh.

A lot of Julie’s work tends to bring out the inner child in her wearer.

Her jewellery is made by photetching her drawings onto silver which she then assembles, oxidises and adds touches of colour with transfers. She has recently started working in mixed media incorporating this with her silver photoetched components.

Julie often creates one off commissions for people who want a special memory captured in precious metal.
