Artist's Statement
My works are made using the techniques of woodcut, etching and several other printmaking media, often in combination....akin to making a collaged landscape. A work may start with a woodcut of a landscape as a first layer, and this may be followed by an etching on top, adding to the feeling of depth, producing utterly different effects, and allowing the work to evolve, I feel naturally, to its finished state. My work is nearly all based on the memories of places I have seen, placing them directly on to the plate...with the first mark, the work is begun.
