Artist's Statement

As an artist designer Stacey takes her inspiration from a broad range of natural forms and architecture and is especially interested in organic shapes, structures and textures at the microscopic scale. Stacey's variety of techniques with a distinct style of craftsmanship, provides a refined balance of strong architectural lines and soft organic shapes and textures, to create a piece of art that is beautiful, functional and visually intriguing enticing you to take a closer look.

Stacey's exceptional jewellery design attracts world wide attention and has won craftsmanship and design awards which include technological innovation and fine jewellery design. Her unique style, one in particular is her use of precious lenses which employs her original technique of setting loose gems under a magnifying lens creating the illusion that they are suspended or floating in liquid. In other designs her delicate lace like settings allow the light to reveal the true colour and beauty of the gemstones she chooses. Rather than use traditional claw settings, Stacey has also devised a way of casting gold inspired by the natural forms of native New Zealand flower pods. Each piece of jewellery is created to the highest level of craftsmanship using the finest quality materials.

Born in New Zealand, Stacey studied at the School of Art and Design at Whitireia in Wellington,  New Zealand, majoring in Jewellery design and graduating in 1999.  Stacey took up residence in the United Kingdom in 2001 basing herself in London.
