The following information is for the benefit of makers who might wish to be considered for DAZZLE exhibitions. We are always on the look out for exciting fresh designers but we tend to target those that have a VERY personal style and ideally, use materials that add interest. We strongly favour those jewellers who are clearly stylized – we tend to be far less keen on those with a range of styles.
DAZZLE exhibitions are all strictly invitation only. Makers can be of any nationality but must be based in the UK. The volume of sales is so great, that we find it extremely difficult to work with makers from outside of the UK. We may, on occasions, require that makers can supply back up stock at just 24 hours notice.
Perhaps regrettably, we do not encourage makers to apply to us. With so many makers already under consideration for each exhibition and with DAZZLE having a continuing commitment to those on our books, the policy is to favour and to openly discriminate towards young graduates at the point of graduation. Usually ten of the most talented college graduates will be taken on each year, at a time when DAZZLE believes, they are most in need of assistance and encouragement.
Despite this, if you are a full time professional maker with a relevent education to at least degree level, then by all means apply.
DAZZLE is also, currently, very keen to expand its stock of top quality makers specialising in wallhung work - for our annual exhibition at the South Bank, London: clocks, lights, mirrors and sconces mainly - though we ask that only those working in very small quantities apply, as we do not consider mass production work!
Not only does DAZZLE have a network of college lecturers, heads of departments and existing DAZZLE jewellers to recommend makers but Tony Gordon, Christine Bola, and other members of the Dazzle management team trawl the degree shows and most of the galleries and exhibitions, searching out the best new and usually younger talent. New
Designers - held in London every July - in particular is a crucial resource.
So what do you do if you want to be in DAZZLE and are not a graduating student?DAZZLE admits to discouraging applications by post and certainly in person. We are a small organisation and we feel that we must concentrate our extremely limited available time on organising efficiently and marketing the existing DAZZLE exhibitions and also in looking for new challenging projects.
If you want to apply, then it is very simple. Just email us and point us to your website As long as you meet the requirements of:
1. Being based in UK
2. Having graduated in a jewellery or 3-d course to degree level*.
3. Have a website
Then just email us at info@dazzle-exhibitions.co.uk
*It is very rare for Dazzle to take on a self trained jeweler and though there have been exceptions, they areextremely rare. We believe that to be impressive technically, then you should have been trained up to a high standard.
- A C.V. to include a list of current retail outlets and full educational information.
We like to visit websites - so please send us your URL.
DO NOT SEND THE ACTUAL WORK UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
