ANN CATRIN EVANS

My work

The images on this page illustrate my recent Love Tokens collection. Hot forged in steel, they are a modern equivelant of the traditional love spoon. I have specialised in making door furniture - doorknockers and accessories, strong, bold, graphic designs to adorn your house. I also produce bespoke lighting, furniture and jewellery and undertake large public art projects.

Scale varies in each project I undertake and so balance and proportion is very important. Inspiration is derived from many diverse sources, from mechanical to organic. The work is simple and bold. I utilise the strength of the material and excercise restraint in design and technique. My observations are developed in sketches and collages, in an abstract way and using CAD, before being created in metal.

Ladder for two.

Ladder for two.

Like two people facing each other, lovingly holding around each other with outstreched arms and legs. It is also a symbol of climbing great heights together.

Like the wind.

Like the wind.

A concave and convex dual spoon, hanging from a chain of beaten links. A modern equivelant on the traditional love spoon, these have new symbolism, portraying the romance we all love, and a touch of reality thrown in.

Wings of Desire.

Wings of Desire.

Feathery wings carry a ring, a proposal perhaps?

Balance.

Balance.

Love Time.

Love Time.

Two hearts together hanging each from a ring similar to the minute and hour hands of a clock, is an idyllic expression of romance, and a lovely gift to a loved one.

You're Mine.
