My work
Whilst studying Goldsmithing, Silversmithing and Jewellery Design at Kent Institute of Art and Design, I found that my work was strongly influenced by my love of organic forms, in particular seed pods and buds. After graduating with a first class honours degree I continued to develop this theme on a post-graduate residency at Bishopsiand Workshops, Reading.
My residency allowed me to explore and experiment further the three dimensional qualities of jewellery that interest me most; shape and texture. Having completed my year at Bishopsland Workshops in August 2003, I moved back to Cambridgeshire where I set up my own workshop. Here, inspired by the surrounding countryside, I make sculptural jewellery that reflects the beauty and delicate structures found in nature.
Comprising of hand press formed and individually fabricated units, my jewellery combines subtle surface textures and contrasting finishes, some pieces include 18ct Gold detail, fresh water pearls or semi precious beads, to create unique pieces of fine jewellery.
