Since graduating from Edinburgh College of Art I have been working in London in both fashion/costume jewelllery for fashion as head designer for Angie Gooderham, and also in my own direction with my collection of semi-precious jewellery.
I work in semi-precious metals, resin, perspex and semi-precious stones to create fresh, feminine and colourful pieces of jewellery. I like to use an instant approach to putting pieces together, working quickly to ensure that the jewellery remains playful and fun.
Symbols including bird and floral silhouettes reference traditional shapes and trinkets found in costume jewellery whilst brightly coloured unusual gemstones and asymmetric carved resin and Perspex shapes contrast them to bring together old and new.
Designed to be worn without pretence, I aim to create jewellery that is unique enough to be eye catching, but also suitable to be worn more casually day to day.
I exhibited in association with Recoleta at the Silent Moon fashion show and previous exhibitions have included New Faces exhibition in the V+A museum shop in association with the Crafts Council, Dazzle London and Dazzle Glasgow and Precious East Coast in Edinburgh. I continue to show and sell throught the UK.
