About Kate Wood
Bristol-based Kate Wood specialises in fine beaded jewellery, hand crafted from precious metals and natural coloured gemstones.
Inspired by the botanical world and the balance and irregularity found in nature, her pieces are refined and ethereal, with a satisfyingly tactile quality and beautiful movement when worn.
Each piece is created from accumulations of tiny precious and semi-precious beads, meticulously wired by hand onto fine chains with handmade silver and gold pins. Simple shapes take their cue from natural forms: branching vines and clusters of berries and barnacles. Varying sizes of stones and pearls are used cleverly to create subtle organic textures.
Mainly self-taught, Kate started her career selling jewellery in London markets. She makes her jewellery in her garden studio in Bristol and sells in boutiques and galleries worldwide.
