Artist's statement

In her new collection, Maud focuses on colour changes and transparency. The combination and interaction of different shades of precious and semi-precious stones creates the feeling of ever changing colours. This challenges the question of  where the colour is formed? The exploration of colour has always been central to Traons work. This collection gives the impression of looking through stained glass with a kaleidoscope. The colour gradient of the gold plating applied to the electroformed rings also resonates with the stone  selection and makes each piece work as a little universe. The visual effects created by the cavities in the shanks of the rings continue to play with the ambiguous sense of scale and space.
