Since setting up her jewellery business in 2021, her work is sold in the Glucksman Gallery and Lavit Quay Gallery in Cork as well as the NI Craft Gallery in Belfast. In 2022 she won the Sustainability Champion Award at the Glucksman Craft + Design Fair.
She has always played with materials and tried to transform them into something else, something beautiful. Rike loves paper because it makes for a spontaneous, creative process and it is very versatile and sustainable, feeling light and warm on the skin. Her pieces transform hand cut 2D paper strips into robust but weightless 3D paper structures, by using repetitive folding and braiding techniques. Each piece originated from her love for fresh and joyful colours. Rike takes pleasure in the process of creating gradient, vibrant colour combinations. The outcome is a mysterious interplay of textures, braiding styles and colour variations.
