About Saipranathi Sreeram
Saipranathi Sreeram is a multi-disciplinary practitioner who devises jewellery and objects inspired by lived experiences.
Sreeram’s practice is centred around exploring material possibilities and pushing analogue and digital techniques in a scientific manner.
This collection of objects expresses themes of process and practicality. The work is inspired by the forms of buttons. Specifically, those usually stored away in a biscuit tin with often unfulfilled intentions of potential use.
A cast-in-place technique is used to create a concentration of colour within the monotonous setting of silver. The work questions the notion of holding onto things out of practical necessity.
Saipranathi graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2024.
