Zoe Bassi is a scottish designer who graduated from Edinburgh College of Art with a First Class Honours degree in Jewellery and then went on to complete a Postgraduate diploma in the same department. Currently based in Bristol she works from Centrespace studios creating jewellery in precious metals and enamel. Having grown up in Edinburgh her work is inspired by the east coastline of Scotland and the villages that dot the coast. Zoe finds these places fascinating to draw as well as visit and it is her drawings that she tries to translate into jewellery, whether it is the drawn line or bright colours of inks. Detail is an important part of many of the pieces driven by the fascination of drawing the immense detail that can be in found in what looks at first glance to be an ordinary scene. Whatever pieces Zoe is making, she aims to keep her work honest, spontaneous and engaging.
