Alice works with precious metals, gem stones and textiles to create jewellery that is inspired by the process involved in clothed making. The paraphernalia, tools and connecting components are the artefacts that Alice chooses to commemorate within her current work. Ranging from collectable one off pieces to everyday wear, an approach to wearable jewellery is equally important within her work. A sensuality of surface and a balance between historical references and contemporary form create a basis for Alice’s clean work. The composition of Alice’s work is underpinned by a sensuality of surface and balance between historical references and contemporary form.
Having graduated from Buckinghamshire New University with a 1st in BA Jewellery, Alice is working towards a new wearable collection to be previewed at Dazzle Edinburgh this year. Each piece collates an innate appreciation for hand made crafts and the tools for which they are created, bringing them to the forefront. Originally from Norfolk, Alice currently works in the heart of Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.
