Artist Statement
After graduating from Central Saint Martins, Angie developed and sold her own range of jewellery using concrete and precious metals, she then worked for several years as a designer in the fine jewellery sector for brands including Boodles, Asprey, Links of London and Astley Clarke.
After starting a family and a move to Surrey Angie wanted to return to making. With a love of carving, casting and colour, and her history with concrete, Angie was drawn to working with Jesmonite a water-based non-toxic composite resin which is an excellent vessel for colour and has a smooth, matte tactile finish.
Influences include abstract and modern artists such as Ellsworth Kelly, Matisse, Helen Frankenthaler, Patrick Heron and mid century modern interiors.
Each piece of jewellery is hand cast and colour-mixed using primary colour pigments, Jesmonite and sterling silver. The collection of earrings, pendants, neckaces and bracelets has a fresh, modern feel using contemporary colour palettes and bold, softly graphic shapes
