Artist's Statement
Using traditional techniques, I work in silver. with touches of gold, introducing colour with semi precious stones. My jewellery is often oxidised, giving an almost antique feel, adding depth to the surface. My work has a strong three dimentional quality, I enjoy making small containers, pots, pod like forms, that hang from the ears or handmade chains around the neck or wrist.
Working from the summerhouse in my garden, I find inspiration in the natural world around me. I also enjoy looking at machinery, the structure of musical instruments, and architecture.
