About Katherine
Katherine trained at the Glasgow school of Art and the Royal College of Art in London. The key features of her work are the use of pattern, fine texture and finish and the addition of areas of gold. Lately this has been applied using the keum boo method, a traditional Korean technique.
All the work is handmade. The rolled texture and application of gold is carefully considered making each piece unique. The techniques Katherine uses allow her to work spontaneously as if drawing on the metal.
Taking inspiration from everything around her Katherine aims to achieve visual harmony and energy in her work, in particular drawing from the balance and detail of natural form.
In addition to the range of work she produces for sale at trade shows, Katherine is pleased to receive commissions for one - off pieces.
