Artist's statement
The central concept of Dovile’s jewellery is time and natural ageing processes. This is shown through the use of hand-carved wood giving a sense of the growth to the wearer.
She focused on naturally black wood and Baltic amber as they age beautifully and have different qualities making them all special. Additionally, she wanted to modify the image of Amber, using it in a more considered and contemporary way without polishing its surfaces.
